TEHRAN The Islamic Republic of Iran will construct a cement factory with a production capacity of 3300 tons per day in northeastern Syria.

The factory will produce one million tons of cement annually.

An informed source at the Iranian Embassy in Damascus announced that the contract was worth $198 million. The Ehdas San'at Company, affiliated to the Iranian Ministry of Industries, will build the factory at a site 150 kilometers from Damascus.

The contract for the construction of the cement factory in Syria is the largest and most important contract that Iran has signed with a foreign country since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
